A Peer Into Our Campuses
Here’s an inside look at what’s been in the works at our campuses:
The Claremont Colleges:
SageTank 2022, the largest annual startup pitching event at the Claremont Colleges, will be hosted on April 30th by Pomona Ventures. Students and alumni of the Claremont Colleges will have the chance to pitch their startup ideas, receive funding, and gain mentorship from a panel of VCs.
Crescent Partners have been in talks with Snapdragon Health, a CMC-based telehealth startup that aims to make therapy more accessible on college campuses.
USC:
USC alumni Bobby Pinckney and Michelle Yin’s startup Discz, a mobile app that combines music with social features, is joining Y Combinator’s Winter 2022 session.
The Southern Californian Tech Landscape
Plex, an LA-based streaming platform is condensing multiple streaming services into one, allowing users to jump back and forth between platforms like Netflix, Disney Plus, and Hulu all at once.
ReadySet, a Beverly Hill’s-based cloud infrastructure database startup has raised $29 million in funding and is getting ready to release its very first commercial cloud product.
NFT marketplace Magic Eden hosted the NFT LA conference and brought together an impressive collection of entrepreneurs, YouTubers, and NFT holders. The event (which was headlined by Sir Mix-A-Lot by the way) provided a platform for experts to demystify cryptocurrency and NFTs.
