Peer Into Our Campuses

Here’s an inside look at what’s been happening at our campuses:

UCI:

  • Laguna Beach-based venture fund Okapi is hosting a fireside chat in collaboration with Crescent at UCI on April 26th. The event will be a great opportunity for UCI students to learn more about breaking into VC.

UCSB:

  • UCSB will be hosting the New Venture Program competition where students will have the chance to learn to develop and launch startups under the guidance of faculty and mentors.

The Southern Californian Tech Landscape

  • West-Hollywood-based startup Gamefam Inc. raises $25 million in Series A funding in hopes of expanding their video game publishing into the Metaverse. Gamefam Inc. is currently developing titles for Roblox and hopes that this latest round of funding will bring new partnerships.

  • Miso Robotics partners with Panera Bread to build an AI-powered coffee system that will provide customers with freshly brewed coffee throughout the day. Miso Robotics is taking the lead in developing products for the restaurant industry, just one month after building an AI-powered tortilla chip machine for Chipotle.

  • LA-based female and minority-led Emmeline Ventures is currently in the process of securing its initial fund. Emmeline plans to support female founders and will also be contributing $30,000 in seed funding for LA-Based digital wallet startup Clutch Wallet.
